(May 18, 2020) Singer Shira Elias honed her vocal chops performing in New York, playing on stages around the Big Apple before joining the 9-piece funk group Turkuaz. With that band she recorded six records and played shows across the globe.

But, while growing as an artist in the band, Shira also found herself craving individual self-expression, which comes to the fore with her new project, Goods and Services. “I’ve always figured out which piece of the puzzle I am in every creative endeavor I’ve been a part of,” admits Shira. “With this solo endeavor, now I get to design the entire puzzle and decide how I want all the pieces to fit together. The process of writing GOODS was like expressing years of emotions and experiences that were bubbling inside of me and needed to be released."

The second single from the project is “Cherry Pie,” a fresh ballad that shows Shira to be a top notch soul vocalist. "I wanted 'Cherry Pie' to sound the way that that 'new love feeling' feels; bubbling with excitement, trepidation and ultimately, building into a joyful freedom."

Working with producer MEGA and guitarist Sasha Brown, she’s created a nice introduction that walks on the border of pop and R&B, but with unusual syncopations and movements that make it quite interesting.
