April 8, 2017 -- Bee Bakare is a British singer/songwriter and guitarist who released her eponymous debut EP in 2015. She has been a road warrior ever since, playing over 200 live performances across the UK and recently was one of three winners of the Future Music songwriting competition. Bakare’s music trends toward heartfelt, acoustic soul and gentle R&B, and she credits as strong influences the kindred spirits Lauryn Hill, India.Arie, and Tracy Chapman. Her warm, contralto voice can both comfort and dazzle, especially when she reaches for the higher notes. Bakare is now putting the finishing touches on her next EP, which is slated for release in late April.
We feature here “Little Darling,” an ever-so-soft piano ballad that was her debut single, as well as a recent live performance for the Reload Sessions of her track “Permission.” We look forward to hearing more from this artist, and we think you will too. Enjoy.
