(November 28, 2016) Influenced by Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley and others, Rob Carvalho began writing songs as a teenager. Soon he was also playing multiple instruments, including flute, keyboards and guitar in his Birmingham, England home. In 2005, he formed the band the Xtended Family and played around the Midlands section of the UK.

We first discovered him four years ago, when he issued the very nice debut album, All The Things You Know To Be True.

Now Rob is back with a jazz-influenced uptempo song that is getting us moving. Between the steady beat and the flute accompaniment behind the nice group vocals, we think he has something here. Rob tells us: "’Soul New’ is how love can change you hence feeling a new and being strong enough to embrace it.”
