(April 23, 2017) -- Dara Tucker’s “Radio” is a homage to the days when bands came together in a studio and cut takes until singer, musicians and producers looked around the room and gave a knowing nod that silently conveyed “we got it.”

Perhaps the next stop would be the radio, and while the tune might be distinct from the other cuts being spun by the local jock, the sound of a lovely voice combining with a rhythm section, horns and guitar was familiar enough to become the soundtrack of many lives.

Musical tastes, music industry economics and recording techniques change - as has the type of music heard on the radio - a medium that no longer has a lock on the ears of the nation. There is still plenty of good music out there - including music made by this organism call a band. However radio has moved far enough away from the kind of music that Tucker gives us on “Radio” that the tune will certainly stir up emotions akin to reconnecting with an old and dear friend after a long absence.

Hearing lovely vocals and a great band working in synchronicity to create energetic R&B can do that to you. Check it out.
