(March 13, 2019) It always comes back to R&B and jazz for Stefano Minder. Minder spent his youth moving between Switzerland and Italy – two countries known for their contributions to classical music. However, Minder’s musical journeys always brought him back to soul and jazz music. The vocalist and pianist is classically trained, attending college in Italy where he earned a bachelor’s degree in jazz voice with minors in jazz piano, improvisation, jazz arrangement and classical harmony. He studied with some of Europe’s best-known jazz singers and collaborated with top flight American talent such as Kurt Elling.
Stefano puts all of that studying to use on his first self-produced album titled Love Through My Eyes. We’re premiering, “’Cause You Know,” the first single from that album. “’Cause You Know” is a ballad that finds Minder deploying a sparse arrangement that gives him ample space to infuse jazz influenced guitar licks along, with some creative soloing while showcasing his vocal range and his ability to improvise vocally.
