(October 31, 2020) The Stone City Band made quite a name for itself in the 80s and 90s, backing funk pioneer Rick James and also working with such notable James-affiliated artists as Teena Marie and The Mary Jane Girls.

Stone Paxton was a centerpiece of that band, and has continued to bring fun and funky music to his longtime fans over the past few years. His newest single, “Happy People,” is a slice of punk-funk that lands somewhere between Parliament and Cameo. And it is 100% smile-inducing.
