SoulTracks friends Kevin Harewood and singer Cleveland P. Jones have created something that's worthy of special attention.

As Kevin says: "A remake of Billie Holiday's classic 'Strange Fruit' has been rolling around in my head since March 2012  when the Trayvon Martin situation first came to national attention.  It especially resonated since as a cub reporter for National Black Radio Network News,  National Leader and The Atlanta Voice I had covered the August 1982 lynching of Lynn  McKinley Jackson in Social Circle, Georgia. The recent verdict in the George Zimmerman trial provoked an online conversation between Cleveland and myself.  I feel the continuing rash of inner city violence across the country is equally outrageous as the more visible Martin situation.'
