(December 5, 2022) For years we’ve screamed from the mountaintops about the incredible music coming out of Rip City, Portland, Oregon. And one of the leaders of that movement has been multi-instrumentalist Swatkins, whose versatility has made him a favorite in multiple genres.

While we have focused on the funk and talkbox releases of Swatkins in the past, for his newest single, he brings in fellow Portlander Ashley Jayy to take vocal leads on number that demonstrates again that Swatkins can seemingly excel at just about any style.

“Letting Go” is a lovely midtempo that straddles the line between soul and jazz, with a gentle hook and a swing that make it nearly essential nighttime listening. And Jayy’s understated vocals are absolutely knockout.
