(May 7, 2021) There are songs that immediately resonate with people based on the music, and there are other songs that resonate because of the lyrics or story. In the case of LA-based singer/songwriter/producer Sydney Raneé's latest single "Go Back" it is clear that it connection with listeners on both levels.

While known as the "sultry songstress," Raneé doesn't identify with a particular genre. However, "Go Back" is a slice of old-school R&B with melodies hinting at the 80s, set with a 90s percussion and arrangement. She sings of a desire to rekindle a relationship with an old flame, a need to "go back to the days when we were just you and me, and not you and her." This cut is a personal affair for Raneé, who not only wrote and performed all of the vocals on "Go Back," but also played the majority of the instruments. The result is a mid-tempo groove that finds her in the perfect vibe that fits her style and vocal approach.
