August 19, 2018 – Tabi Bonney is a rapper, singer and songwriter who spent his early years in Lomé, Togo (West Africa) before relocating to Washington, DC, where he launched his solo music career in 2006 with the release of his debut album A Fly Guy’s Theme. He is the son of the late Itadi Bonney, a renowned Togolese activist/funk musician and has recently also been featured in his first photography exhibit Le Bon Voyage: Across The Omo Valley, which highlights the diversity of the indigenous ethnic groups of southern Ethiopia.

Tabi has released an EP of the same title to serve as a soundtrack for his exhibit, and we feature here the opening track “Voodoo,” a soulful, hip-shaking jam with dreamy, looping guitar lines and enchanting African polyrhythms. Enjoy.
