(September 25, 2021) Powerhouse vocalist and Philly native Tanqueray Hayward has been on our radar here at SoulTracks for quite awhile and we really dig her style.  As a matter of fact, she won New Artist of the Year in the 2020 SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Awards.

So, it brought a lot of joy when Tanqueray released her debut album, Definition of a Woman.  And one of the album's sweetest songs is our latest First Listen, a duet entitled "The End of Never."  It's a wedding-worthy ballad that focuses on a couple's desire to stay together for the long haul, come what may.  As such, it can remind you of "Spend My Life" by Eric Benét and Tamia -- the type of song that gets better with time just as a couple in love hopes to.

Singing with Tanqueray on "The End of Never" is music industry veteran T.L. Shider, who produced her entire album.  Their chemistry is magnetic, which likely comes from the mutual respect they have for one another. Tanqueray has called T.L. "a creative genius" who's able to push her to greater heights vocally, and T.L. has said that Tanqueray's talent ‘blew him away’ immediately.

Her great talent is what led T.L. to reach out to Tanqueray on social media last year.  And one of the first things he asked her?  To do a duet with him.  It took some time to happen, but it finally did; and Tanqueray calls it one of the best vocal moments on the album.  We hope you enjoy it.
