East Coast singer and songwriter Temika Moore was one of the first independent artists we covered on SoulTracks over a decade ago, and our respect for her continues to grow. As an artist who has developed a strong following for her intelligent, honest music on her own terms, she is a role model for both perseverance and truth in music.
It has been four years since Temika's End of Me disc was released, and the talented singer and songwriter is finally returning with a new Inspirational Soul project called The Closet: Intimate Conversations. We premiered the first single from the project, “Every Word,” a few months ago and now are happy to hear another sneak peek – the piano ballad, “How?” With “How?,” Temika delves into the questions many have during their journey of faith. When asked about the new genre that she champions and uses to describe her craft, Temika notes, “Inspirational Soul is organic. This music is built on the premise of vocal, instrumental, and lyrical freedom undergirded by spiritual truth.”
This is yet another song inspired by Temika’s personal faith. The outcome of her ‘pouring out her soul in prayer’ is an ‘answer with a song.’ Her forthcoming EP, The Closet: Intimate Conversations will bring out additional experiences and insights from her travels on that path.
