(August 23, 2017) The Motor City is a perfect place for an aspiring musician to cultivate a sound different from any other. From his early days playing the guitar in church to formal training as a young adult, Tim Bowman pulled from a multitude of influences and created a sound that infuses gospel, blues, R&B and jazz. He has been a hit internationally in all those areas, and now he’s back for more.
Tim has been regularly scoring on the jazz charts, and had a hit earlier this year with the single, “City Lights.” He is now readying his highly anticipated new album, Into The Blue, which arrives on September 8.
In advance of the album’s release, Tim has teamed with SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Winner Angela Johnson for the gentle new ballad, “My Heart To You.” It is the kind of acoustic soul song that became a staple on radio in the early 2000s, and sounds just fantastic today. Tim tells us, "When I first heard Angela sing, I was taken by the tone and quality of her voice, so it was an honor to work with her, also she has a kind and beautiful heart."
