(October 6, 2020) Songwriter, producer and musician Tomi Malm has made a career out of supporting others. Hi keep sense of melody and song structure has made him a sought-after partner over the years for many A-List stars.
Three years ago, Malm came forward from the shadows, releasing his excellent debut album, Walking On Air, and bringing a number of his famous musical friends along with him. It was well received, and set the table for his upcoming (October 15) sophomore release, Coming Home, which again features an all-star crew of musicians and vocalists.
For our latest First Listen, we’re focusing on a ballad from the album featuring terrific vocal performances by longtime SoulTracks fave Wendy Moten and David Foster protégé, the late Warren Wiebe. “The Time Is Now” has the building feel of the kind of love songs that dominate the AC charts in the 80s and early 90s – now being fondly recalled by many as Yacht Soul.
