First Listen: Tony Lindsay creates a jam on "All Is One"

(November 15, 2021) Tony Lindsay is a singer’s singer who has written songs for a host of artists and has backed up just about everybody. And if you’ve heard that power packed baritone and the range and passion that he brings to anything he sings, it’s easy to see why the legendary Carlos Santana kept Lindsay as a backing vocalist for years. Lindsay added his soulful vocals to every Santana album from Milagro to Multi-Dimensional Warrior – and that includes the mega hit Supernatural in 1999.

Lindsay added his soulful vocals to every Santana album from Milagro to Multi-Dimensional Warrior – and that includes the mega hit Supernatural in 1999.

Now Lindsay is jumping into the mix as a soloist and he is landing with both feet firmly into making some very infectious message music. His latest release is an inspirational bit of Latin tinged funk and rock called “All Is One.” The tune shows just how deeply Lindsay was influenced by his years of working with Carlos Santana. In fact, those connections permeate the track. Peter Michael Escovedo, the son of long time Santana percussionist Pete Escovedo, produced the video and also played the timbales.

The arrangement features the kind of guitar work, as well as the Latin brass, that will be instantly familiar to Carlos Santana fans. Lindsay’s vocals stand out on this track, which has a timely message about that importance of uniting as a human family. Lindsay’s singing, deeply influenced by the African American religious musical tradition, offers a compelling counterpoint to the musical fusion of Latin, funk and rock. Check out “All Is One” here.
