(March 15, 2018) We’ve been writing about soul songstress Tracy Cruz for a few years now. We’ve always enjoyed both her expressive singing and her take on romantic relationships.
Last year we featured a couple of terrific singles from Tracy’s H3Artifacts EP, the first of a trilogy of projects she’s planning. Now Tracy is back with a brand new single produced by longtime SoulTracks fave (and former Publisher’s Album of the Year winner) Brandon Williams.
The wonderful new midtempo is as interesting for its lyrical content as for its light jazzy touch. Tracy tells us, “I wrote ‘Keep Our Soul Alive’ during a very difficult time in my life. I felt like I was experiencing a whirlwind of various professional and personal challenges. I was struggling to pay the bills but wanted to pursue my career as an independent music artist. During this ordeal, I realized I still had to find my peace within the storm. I had to make sure I was keeping myself happy, keeping my soul alive which was through music.”
