We've been big fans of Tomas Doncker and his True Groove Records family for quite awhile. And Thomas has brought together some of his label's best, to record a rousing rendition of Curtis Mayfield's classic "We're A Winner" Says Thomas: "We decided to celebrate. We'd just signed our distribution/licensing deal with The Orchard. We had a bunch of projects in the works but we, The True Groove/Global soul family needed to rejoice. That's when the idea of The True Groove All-Stars project presented itself. The turbulent times we live in combined with the need to look forward and stay positive immediately reminded me of Curtis Mayfield's classic "We're A Winner". It was originally released in 1967 - a time of change. We felt the song was a perfect statement for right now."
