First Listen: Wendell B and the Soul Music Representatives are "Still Learning About Love"

(August 10, 2020) On the song “Still Learning,” vocalist Wendell B combines production techniques often associated with hip-hop and contemporary R&B with timeless vocal skills and storytelling to create something that will have some appeal to millennial listeners and their parents.

“Still Learning” finds Wendell B telling the classic story of a man struggling to find the right balance between his responsibilities as a married man and father and the past life that he was supposed to leave behind. He wants to run the streets, but his wife demands that he be present at home and fulfill all of his – ahem – duties.

As a vocal storyteller, Wendell B is an artist who can teach contemporaries as well as the younger generation of singers a thing or two. He can move easily from the rapid fire style of vocal delivery popular among R&B singers who compete with rappers for the ears of the listening public. But Wendell B also possesses a muscular baritone and range that comes from singing in the church from his youth and then putting in years of work on the R&B circuit. And he’s helped out by some talented musical friends from the 90s R&B group Old Skool. Check out audio and video for “Still Learning” here.
