The mission of this Seattle based group is to bring back the power of instrumental soul music. Based upon their latest single, "Good Luck With That," it appears that they are well on their way to accomplishing that mission.

Drawing comparisons to groups like The Meters and Booker T and the M.G.'s may appear to be intimidating, but as you peel back the layers to "Good Luck With That," the connection is clear. Wolcott and Curran bring the best of 60s soul to this jam. From the intro, guided by the horns and percussion, to the melody being driven by the organ and guitar, it's a song that is rooted in a retro feel. That nostalgia is further translated through the actual creation of this track, as it was recorded to tape using Wolcott's analog equipment that dates back to the 1940s-1960s.  It's an effective touch that brings a certain rawness and authenticity to the track, while removing the digital polish that tends to be found on today's music.

Enjoy the throwback soul of "Good Luck With That" and keep an eye out for future releases from the Wolcott Collective!
