It’s hard to believe that it was 12 years ago now that the Atlanta singer/songwriter and guitarist Anthony David entered the indie soul scene with his debut album 3 Chords and the Truth.  David took his early paces in music as a songwriter for others, most notably for India.Arie, and he has since gone on to garner a Grammy nomination for his song “Words” and to earn the universal respect of critics for his talents.

His gifts are many: a rich, gravelly and expressive voice, an ear for compelling melodies, and a commitment to social justice that is often reflected in his lyrics.  He is one of those special artists who, when you hear one of his tracks playing, you stop what you’re doing and just listen.  We feature here from David’s debut the song “Spittin’ Game,” a live performance that shows his skill at captivating an audience. Enjoy.
