HOW TO ENTER:
Create your own "music video" of any one song from the vast catalog of Daryl and John's 35+ year recording history*. You can sing, dance... get creative!
Videos must be under 5 minutes in length and cannot contain nudity, obscenity, racially offensive material, or any illegal activities. Only one entry per person.
Contest entries will be accepted between 12:00:01 a.m. EST on May 11, 2007, and 11:59:59 pm EST on June 30, 2007.
JUDGING CRITERIA:
In round 1, each video will be judged on creativity, originality and visual aesthetic. In subsequent rounds winners will be determined by the entries receiving the greatest number of votes in online voting.
HOW IT WORKS:
The contest will be broken up into 3 rounds:
First Round:
Daryl, John and their management team will choose up to 25 videos. We'll be watching the first sixty-seconds of each entry, so be sure to wow us in the first minute!Second Round:
The top 25 videos will be posted online on July 8, 2007, and will be open to voting through July 21, 2007. During that time you can visit HallandOates.com to suibmit your vote! The 3 videos receiving the greatest number of votes will be announced on July 22, 2007 and will continue on to Round 3.Third Round:
Visitors to HallandOates.com can vote on the Top 3 from July 22-30, 2007. Winners will be announced on August 1, 2007 with the video receiving the greatest number of votes being declared the grand prize winner, the video receiving the second greatest number of votes being declared the first runner up, and the video receiving the third greatest number of votes being delcared the second runner up.
TO SUBMIT YOUR VIDEO:
First, record and edit your video. Please make sure your video meets our technical requirements, specifically video files must be 20MB or smaller and in .mov (QuickTime), .mpg (MPEG), .mp4 (MPEG-4), .asf/.wmv (Windows Media) or .avi (AVI) file format. We recommend a final resolution of 320x240 pixels when rendering.
