ChinahBlacChinahBlac‘s name rings with familiarity throughout various music circles.  She is no newcomer to music and what we call the Indie Soul Scene is relatively a ‘been there, done that' for this versatile singer.  What many may not know is that Chinah and I have known each other for more than ten years.  We worked together when I was VP of an entertainment company and she was the lone female artist on our Triple Threat roster.

My nature is to just be partial to male vocalists and extra tough on giving space in my heart (& iPod) to the ladies unless they absolutely wow me, but witnessing ChinahBlac perform live back in the late 90s made me swoon.  She was neo soul ~ rock ~ pop ~ in one package and I was intrigued.

Over the years, Chinah and I have experienced highs, lows, musical triumphs, emotional blowups and quite a few sessions of sister-to-sister "that's why I love you's" ~ but what I realized is that through it all, people have not heard from ChinahBlac often enough to know more about who she is and where she comes from.
