Kiara

Kiara

Kiara was a Detroit-based duo consisting of multi-instrumentalist John Winston and vocalist Gregory Charley. They had a brief moment in the sun in the late 80s with a couple of very attractive hits. "The Best of Me," with its smooth vocals and sax solo, was a bona fide R&B hit, and the duo also hit the charts with "Quiet Guy" and "This Time." Their 1988 debut album, To Change and/or Make a Difference, landed in the R&B top 25, but the follow-up, Civilized Rogue, unfortunately stiffed.  A third album, Condition of the Heart, was released in 1994, but it failed to chart, and Kiara's days on the national scene were essentially over.
