September 4, 2017 -- Glen Campbell, who passed last month after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease, was renowned for his special brand of “country pop” which powered the sale of 45 million albums worldwide and earned nine #1 hits on the Billboard charts. Lesser known is that Campbell started his music career as an LA session guitarist who played and sang on countless hits in the 60’s for the Beach Boys, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Ricky Nelson and many others.

Still lesser known is that, apart from his considerable technical skills as a guitarist, Campbell also had SOUL. Witness below from 1975 Campbell’s live instrumental cover of Bill Withers’s  hit “Ain’t No Sunshine,” which Glen delivers with great passion and all manner of blues, jazz and soul accents.  Goodbye, Glen, and thanks for the music.
