To many people he will always be known as Theo from the iconic television show The Cosby Show, but Malcolm-Jamal Warner has fashioned for himself a career that incorporates both acting and music, with four albums under his belt as the guitarist and founder of the group Miles Long.

"It's funny, people aren't so much surprised that I have a band as much as they are that we're good." chuckles Warner.

We first wrote about his debut album 15 years ago, and while some of his subsequent music has gone under the radar for listeners, it is nonetheless worth finding.

That includes his 2015 album Selfless, which included collaborations with some musical giants, including Robert Glasper, Stokley and Rahsaan Patterson. And one of the songs from that album particularly caught our fancy: the great Lalah Hathaway came along for a jazzy midtempo about that special feeling you have going up your spine when new love comes along.
