    Happy March SoulTrackers!  February was another fantastic month here, as we had our michael mcdonald smallhighest number of daily visitors ever.  We also had more free downloads than ever, with SoulTrackers especially flocking to the new Angie Stone music.  And there are more treats this month, including an advance Listening Room for the new Michael McDonald album, Soul Speak.  

    We're happily about to get hit with a flurry of new CD releases in March and April and we'll be keeping you up to date.  Make sure to regularly check our UPCOMING RELEASES PAGE to see what's coming next!   But for now, here's the best of what's new today, so kick back and enjoy your monthly dose of Soul!

    New Music Reviews janet jacksonJanet Jackson - After a string of mediocre albums and public fallout, Janet is back with a new album that may be her best in years.  

    Patti Austin -  Patti Austin has been a soul/jazz staple forPatti Austin three decades, and finally got her due at this year's Grammy Awards for her excellent Avant Gershwin. Come check out Peggy Oliver's review as well as Patti's diary of her Grammy-winning evening.     

    Michael McDonald - We mentioned our Michael McDonald Listening Room above, but we also have an advance review of his upcoming album, the very good Soul Speak.  

    Heston - He's been one of the hottest stage performers in theheston small indie soul world, and Heston is ready to go big time with his debut album.  And we're glad to have an advance cut as a Free Download this month.  

    Marcus Miller - One the great producers and musicians of the last three decades, Miller is back with a solo CD that our Howard Dukes says shows Marcus's versatility.  

    Raheem DeVaughn - Raheem has been labeled one of the raheembright young stars of soul, and Akim Bryant says Raheem generally delivers on his second full CD.   Soul Cycle -  This jazz/soul combo from New York has released a gem, a great introduction to this talented group.  

    Lenny Kravitz - He's been at the top of his game for years, but did Lenny Kravitz take the easy route on his newest lenny krelease?  Check out our review.    

    Freda Payne - It's been 35+ years since "Band of Gold," but Freda Payne is still beautiful and sounding great on her newest album, On the Inside.  

    Ruby Collins - She's been a police officer among other things,ruby collins but Ruby Collins' new album shows her to be an arresting young talent worth watching.  

    Jose James - Virtually unknown in popular circles, this talented young singer/songwriter won't be unknown for long.  Check out our review of his debut.  

    Afi - This DC-based singer delivers big time on herafi debut album, Lovely, solidifying her position among the new breed of indie soul singers.  

    Aimee K. Bryant - This big-voiced young singer wowed our L. Michael Gibson with her debut album. Find out why.  

    John P. Kee - He's a gospel legend, and he's returned john p keewith his first new album in three years, and our Chris Whaley says it was worth the wait.

    angela bofill smallSoulTrackers have been praying for the health of soul music great Angela Bofill for a couple years, and Angela's manager, Rich Engel, has been kind enough to keep us up to date on her progress after she suffered a second stroke last year.  Her lasting popularity with fans showed last month, as Angela was the most searched for artist on our website.  Click Here to see this month's Popularity Index, with our top 25 artists.

    Soul Concert DVDsray goodman We've received literally hundreds and hundreds of emails from SoulTrackers trying to find DVDs of their favorite classic soul artists.  Now Soul Concerts, a company out of Chicago, has recorded new live shows of such great artists as Ray Goodman & Brown, the Chi-Lites, Melba Moore, the Dells, the Temptations Revue, the Delfonics, and many more and are selling them, along with "live" CDs, at their website.  It's great news for soul music fans who have searched in vain for live footage of many of these great artists.  To check out Soul Concerts and to view concert clips, CLICK HERE.

    Top 10 Albums Angela Johnson woman's touch small ANGELA JOHNSON  February was a big month for a number of albums on our charts, but the biggest by far was the excellent new Angela Johnson album A Woman's Touch, which scored our second biggest sales total EVER.  The charts also included new albums by Raheem DeVaughn, Grammy-nominated singer Ledisi, hot newcomer Algebra and others.  To see our entire top 10 chart, CLICK HERE.
