THE PREMIER EAST COAST INDIE SOUL CONCERT SERIES Virginia based On The Verge and D.C. based Mojo Live have joined forces as co-promoters to present a stellar East Coast Indie Soul Concert Series to begin in Norfolk, Virginia on July 17, 2007. The series, branded "Soul Is..." dedicates itself to building a small venue, live performance platform for independent soul music and artists from across the country. Our mission, which we take extremely serious, and our vision, which we see crystal clear, is to connect artists to audiences and audiences to artists. We want to allow artists to touch the souls of their audiences through their live music. Live music has the power to inspire, influence and change lives. On The Verge and Mojo Live wish to serve as a vessel for delivering great live music to a growing number of music enthusiasts who seek an alternative to mainstream music.
As we seek to lay a successful blueprint for small venue indie soul concerts, we take pride in introducing a vast array of some of the best indie soul artists in music today to the Southeastern Virginia region. With the support of our local music community, local media, Internet music community, Internet media, sponsors, retail outlets, music lovers and lovers of live music, we intend to create a massive buzz with the "Soul Is..." series. We aim to draw national and international attention to this region as being a supportive and growing music and lifestyle community.
We are passionate about independent soul music, excited about the thriving independent soul community worldwide, concerned about the future of recorded music and eager to develop a concert series that gives independent soul artists the opportunity to reach audiences in this region via smaller more intimate live performances coupled with frequent appearances to the Southeastern Virginia region. So to continue to build upon the reputation that On The Verge has built over the past 4 years with tastemaking and online media efforts, we along with the passion and dedication of Mojo Live are pleased, honored and excited to announce the line-up for the first three months of our "Soul Is..." indie soul concert series starting July 17, 2007 at Reign, 112 Bank Street in Downtown Norfolk, Virginia.
