Real

Real

Louise and Winston joined forces in 2005 to create Real, working as songwriters, developing a partnership which has flourished and led to the creation of their first full album “Give Me A Reason”. They have created a style which is a unique fusion of soul, funk, acid jazz, yielding music which is both accessible and commercial but has strong, credible jazz and soul roots.

Louise Pollock is a relative newcomer but has already made a strong impact having had success first in dance music (2 no. 1's). She quickly realised that her real desire was to work with someone of like mind to create the kind of music which she wanted to sing – funk, soul. Her songwriting abilities can also be heard on her solo album “Louise Pollock” out on iTunes, together with her great voice and vivacious personality which could be heard monthly for over 3 years at Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club with her band Funk Affair. She is currently co-writing several songs with Simply Red's Dave Clayton.

Winston Rollins needs little introduction. His background is steeped in music having been in bands such as Jamiroquai, Brand New Heavies, InCognito, Aswad, Courtney Pine and currently Jools Holland. He has his own studio, RedRoom Studios in Chiswick, West London and has produced the album himself. His talents extend thus as a musician (trombonist firstly but also keyboards, bass), songwriter, producer, arranger not to mention a unique personality and presence on stage.

As a performing entity Real generate an exciting, fresh vibe. It is no accident that Real has used some of the best musicians around with vocalist Louise fronting it and Winston as band leader and M.D. Backing musicians include or have included: Lisa Grahame, Chris Storr, Julian Crampton, Jamiroquoi's Rob Harris and  Derrick McKenzie, Erroll Rollins, Sola Akingbola, Adam Goldsmith, Ian King and Stuart Trotman.

Fifteen superb, soulful and funky tracks.
