Mr. Washington’s late brother, Henry (also a National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame inductee), was a music promoter around the Detroit area for many years, taking David under his wing and teaching him about the music business and business in general. David has carried on in his brother’s honor while making a name for himself in the music industry and in business. Mr. Washington was one of the honorees for The Made Man Detroit (2017).

David is the host of the 20 Grand Revue Show, which airs on a local Detroit radio station (WPON-AM 1460) and has been doing so for the past 21 years, playing a variety of Soul and Rhythm & Blues from the 50s to 80s and giving listeners a history lesson to boot. He also serves on the committee of The National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame (Founder/CEO Lamont Robinson), and has served as co-host for the past few years alongside the late Mary Wilson of the Supremes and legendary soul man Spyder Turner.

Mr. Washington has shown that real radio still exists, as he plays quality music that many of us grew up on and cherish to this day. I for one have become a huge fan of not only his show, The 20 Grand Revue Show but of the man himself and what he represents.

David Washington is not only a radio personality and businessman, but he is also a gentleman with a gentle soul, breathing music night and day and sharing his love of music with all of us.
