Chene Park Breaks Record in its first week

    DETROIT -   Sulaiman Mausi, Vice President of Detroit-based and family run company, The Right Productions, the company that manages Chene Park is excited about celebrating the park's 25 years as a summertime jewel in the city.   "Last week we got off to an amazing start.  We normally don't reach the 22,000 person mark until almost three weeks into the season.  This year we have done in 5 days what normally takes us 21 days to do.  Jill Scott and Dwele, Ne-yo, The First Annual Detroit Blues Festival, and The White Party were all smashing successes.  We are l

    Opened in 1982,  Chene Park serves as the City of Detroit's premier outdoor performance venue. Over the years the venue has become an integral part of Detroit life, playing host to some of the great entertainment moments in the city.  Jean Luc Ponty, Little Richard, The White Stripes,  Ray Charles,  The Concert of Colors, Femi Kuti, Destiny's Child, A Tribe Called Quest, Michael Franks, James Brown, Steel Pulse, Kem, Chaka Khan and an almost endless list of big names have played there.
