The self-titled debut featuring beloved, Seattle Legends: Vitamin D, Jake One, Bean One, Kuddie Mak and other local producers, gained national and international acclaim and captured the raw essence of soul music with its uplifting lyrics, earthy vocals and excellent production.  Choklate's debut filled a much needed void in our world of music.

Seattle based soul singer Choklate burst onto our canvas of sounds in the Summer of 2006.  She was embraced by the Seattle music scene and took the rest of the world by storm with a debut collection of instant favorites that seemed to seep into us from out of nowhere.

In conjunction with the release of her debut in 2006, the collaborative launching of both East and West coast performance tours solidified her place alongside such soul luminaries as Raheem Devaughn, Dwele, Yahzarah, Anthony David, Sy Smith, Sharon Jones, Res and the list goes on.

Over the past year Choklate's brand of soul music has become synonymous with self-empowerment, honesty, love, relationships, life and gratitude.  With every lyric written from the heart and soul, Choklate has been on a quest to pump an infectious, melodic sense of life in song, out to those who are open to receive it, while at the same time never forgetting the love and encouragement from her beloved friends, family and constituents in Seattle, WA, the place she calls home, a place where she was granted full support from the entire community in cultivating her craft and where she first gained national attention from.

In a gracious effort to give back to her soul community and to play a role in her musical contemporaries reaching some of their purest fans with a much anticipated Pacific Northwest exposure, Choklate and her collaborative partners and peers will launch Seattle's First Premier Indie Soul Concert Series on October 21, 2007 @ Neumos, 925 E Pike Street in Seattle.  The series appropriately titled ‘Suite Decadence' will feature a who's who of indie soul recording artists from across the country.  Choklate will be introducing many of her friends and favorite performers to the Pacific Northwest for the very first time as well as working with her local music family to create some of the most memorable soul music nights in Seattle history.  And Choklate is no stranger to introductions.  She introduced New York soul singers Eric ‘Erro' Roberson and Peter Hadar to Seattle during her Hustle Hard Tour Finale back in March of this year.  Eric, Choklate and Peter were met with two sold out shows at the World Famous Triple Door in Seattle.

With the support of all who love good soul music, Choklate will launch the first show in the ‘Suite Decadence' series on October 21 featuring D.C./North Carolina sexy soul siren Yahzarah aka Purple St. James (myspace.com/yahzarah), Atlanta soul powerhouse Rahbi (myspace.com/rahbi) and Seattle's own Soulchilde (myspace.com/soulchilde).  Both Yahzarah and Rahbi will be making their Seattle debuts and will have an opportunity to connect with a burgeoning soul music scene in Seattle, Washington.

The Suite Decadence concert series is presented by Choklate Music (WA) in association with On The Verge (VA).
