I was reminded the other day that seven years ago, on a cold evening in New York where I was visiting with several friends, I met Seattle-based singer Choklate Moore at that city's famed S.O.B.'s club, where Eric Roberson was performing. I immediately liked Choklate, the person, for a lot of reasons, and a few minutes later was wowed by Choklate the performer as she stepped on the stage for a terrific, impromptu duet with Eric.

I was reminded what was so terrific about this talented, intelligent performer, as she tells about her childhood and about the importance of knowing -- and hearing from others -- that your potential is limitless.
