Following the end of the Miracles’ reign in the late 70s, brothers Don and Billy Griffin continued to write together, working on Billy’s Columbia solo albums in the 80s. Don also became part of the disco group Madagascar, issuing the album Spirit of the Street in 1981, before joining Anita Baker’s band for several sold out tours.

He continued to perform with success over the next few decades, and worked with artists ranging from Donna Summer to Lalah Hathaway to Earl Klugh, and also wrote and recorded music, most recently issuing smooth jazz solo music during the past few years.

Mr. Griffin leaves behind his brother Billy and sister Diane, as well as his son Brandon. For music lovers, Don Griffin will be remembered for the key role he played in many of the most memorable songs of the 70s and 80s. He will be missed.
