Eric Roberson highlights Howard Univ fundraiser in Detroit

    January 14 - Neo-soul sensation Eric Roberson is bringing his act to Detroit next month to help raise money for local teenagers aspiring to attend college. The 2011 Grammy Nominated singer, producer and writer is teaming up with his college alma mater, Howard University for a concert, Saturday, February 5th, at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. Doors open at 8pm. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door. All proceeds benefit The Howard University Alumni Club of Detroit Scholarship Fund.

    Roberson, affectionately known as Erro, continues to amaze his fans with his energetic, poetic, and positive tunes as well as his engaging, crowd stirring live performances. He has successfully written and produced 7 independent albums within the last 15 years.

Erro, is also known for writing hit songs for artists like Jill Scott, Musiq Soulchild, and Dwele.

    Monique Parnell, President of the HUACD, says " it's an honor to have Eric perform in Detroit, and it's great to know that we are part of his tour route to the as he makes his way to L.A., where he will hopefully win a Grammy. He is such a tremendous talent, that to have him for our fundraiser is just all around, great!"

    Howard University is a private college in Washington D.C. It's one of the most prestigious and celebrated African American Universities in the Nation. The Detroit area is home to one of the schools largest Alumni chapters. Some notable graduates include Detroit's own Judge Damon Keith as well as Thurgood Marshall, Phylicia Rashad, Roberta Flack, Ossie Davis, Toni Morrison, and many others.
