(December 22, 2017) We are sad to inform SoulTrackers of the death of Detroit soul singer and music royalty, Grady Washington. The 1976 Pershing High School graduate was a member of the famous Washington musical family.

Grady’s older brother, Gino Washington, had a string of hits in the 1970s, and later hosted a local television show in Detroit. And, of course, his nephew, Keith Washington, topped the national charts in the 80s with such songs as “Kissing You” and “Candlelight and You.”

Grady Washington hit the charts himself with the 2000 single and album Let’s Be More Than Friends. He re-released it in 2010. A year later, he released the dance song, “Get To Steppin.”
