(April 21, 2017) -- Following a lawsuit by Prince’s estate, a federal judge has blocked the release of an album of the late star’s “vault” songs by producer George Boxill. The EP, called Deliverance, was briefly available at several online stores, but has now been pulled, according to All Access. However the title song, “Deliverance,” continues to ostensibly be available, though it doesn’t currently appear at the usual online stores.

The ruling comes at the same time that Billboard magazine reports that Prince was the number 1 selling artist of 2016 – even beating Adele -  with over seven million albums sold. To give a sense, sales of Purple Rain alone in 2016 would have been nearly enough to go “gold.” And with Prince’s albums hitting streaming services like Spotify this year, his popularity continues on a high.
