"The music business has changed drastically", said Scott Egbert, VP Artist Relations for ReverbNation. "Distribution methods and music customer purchasing behaviors, not to mention all the free promotional options now available to independent artists have dramatically leveled the playing field thanks to the internet. But the fact remains that live performance is king. Even if music were totally free, performing live would still be a viable revenue stream due to the fact that concert tickets and t-shirts are still not freely downloadable".
