Sharon Jones cancels tour after cancer diagnosis

    (June 3, 2013) The Associated Press has reported that soul singer Sharon Jones, who over the past decade has amassed a sizeable young audience through her work with the Dap Kings, has been diagnosed with cancer.  Jones, 57, was touring with the Dap Kings in anticipation of her planned release, Give the People What They Want. Feeling ill during the tour, she cancelled several shows before getting the diagnosis.

    AP reports that "doctors caught the tumor early and that the cancer hasn't spread. They expect the 57-year-old to make a full recovery."
