TORONTO, ON (Publicity Support Newswire) October 30, 2013 — Dr Jay de Soca Prince and Ian Andre Espinet, two of Canada’s most reputable Urban and Caribbean Event promoters have teamed up to launch the SUR Music Festival onFriday November 22nd , 2013at the Guvernment Entertainment Complex located at 132 Queens Quay East. The 1st semi-annual SUR Music Festival shall feature 2 main stages, 8 major acts, and over 20 DJs using the full scope of all 7 venues encompassed within the grounds with the intention to cross-promote Urban R&B and Hip-Hop artists with Caribbean Soca and Reggae artists.[Publisher's Note: SoulTracks' Ann Marie Collymore will be covering this concert for us]
The festival’s inaugural edition shall feature two main sound stages. The Belvedere Socatherapy Stage headlined by Trinidadian Soca superstars Bunji Garlin & Fay Ann Lyons, Edwin Yearwood of Barbados, Skinny Fabulous of St. Vincent & The Grenadines and Soca newcomers Porgie & Murdah will take place at KoolHaus. The Bud Light Platinum Soul Kitchen Stage with performances by Toronto’s Soul songstress Shi Wisdom, world renowned voice Glenn Lewis, and Atlantic Records Neo-Soul artist Musiq SoulChild will take place at Guvernment.
