(August 18, 2022) Maybe you know Wendy Moten from her smash 1992 hit "Come In Out of the Rain." Or maybe you know her from the many years in which she was one of the most sought-after studio vocalists in the world. Or maybe, just maybe, you're young enough that the first time you heard Wendy Moten was when she wowed America as a contestant on Season 21 of NBC's The Voice.

Even before her The Voice appearance, the word was out that Wendy Moten was working on an interpretation of Stevie Wonder's Songs In The Key of Life classic, "As," but it remained under wraps for more than a year...until now. Moten has consistently shown herself to be a most versatile artist, and with "As" she takes a familiar favorite and transforms it into a tough-to-classify midtempo, complete with full horns and touches of Memphis, Chicago and Detroit.

It is somewhat incongruous that a song could have such full-bodied production and yet appear comfortably understated, but "As" pulls that off, and that comes froms Moten's spot-on lead vocals, which casually build for several minutes before taking us to Church as the song reaches its climax. It is all a special treat, and the involved artists and Woodward Avenue Records should be congratulated.

We're proud to present the World Premiere of "As." Check it out below, and get ready to smile.
