    Yolanda R. performs R&B/Soul, Pop, and Jazz & Gospel. Singing since age 12, she has graced recordings, performances and choral groups with her soulful soprano. A native New Yorker, Yolanda trained classically at the famous LaGuardia High School of Music & the Arts (featured in the movie "Fame"), then won a vocal scholarship to Harlem School for the Arts. An ASCAP* member, she has performed at various open mics, karaoke bars, venues, organizations and schools throughout NYC.

    Her first original song “Why” was released in Dec. 2011. Years ago, after ending a short term relationship on a sour note, she wrote the song. Yolanda R. wrote the melody, lyrics and vocal arrangement and Phillip Carroll produced the song. In Dec. 2010 she was the featured vocalist on Harmonik's "Nervana Remix” electronica single.

    She has met with increasing success in 2012. In March, her single Meandering" was voted on by the fans/listeners of ISB Radio and landed in the top 10 countdown on www.rhythmandsoulradio.com for two weeks in a row. Her music was also featured on the 3/21/12 broadcast of www.legendsradio.net. In May she was a guest on the Urban Forum Live Radio Show where she was interviewed and performed "Meandering" and "Why" in front of a live studio audience as the show streamed live on the Internet (www.ustream.tv/channel/urban-forum-talk-radio-show-w-silky-paul-wayne). She was voted one of two June 2012 VIP Artists on Poze Productions and was also the featured artist on the Facebook page for Chessboard Radio in the same month. In July 2012 she was simultaneously the Featured Artist on both the Poze Productions and BeatsUrban.com websites. In August she was a featured artist on TheIndieBiz.com website. On October 27th she will be a Featured Artist at two different venues as she performs live NYC, while her music is being featured in Norcross, GA.at another event!

    In July 2012 she released her debut CD/EP entitled "Yolandas Voice." "Bring Ur Lovin' Home" has been the top selling track in heavy rotation on several Internet stations. Her  brand of "Sweet Soul" has been applauded as she continues to gain new fans and expanded radio airplay. She is presently working on a full length album to be released by the end of the 2013. Her next recordings will include R&B/Soul, Jazz and may also dabble in some other genres as the mood strikes.
