(June 23, 2016) We’ve recently gotten to know the music of talented Omnes Music and Purpose Jazz recording artist keyboard player, songwriter, producer, author and vocalist, Andrae Alexander. Though he may be a new name to SoulTrackers, he has been honing his skills behind the scenes for awhile, most recently contributing songs to recent the recent K Michelle smash album as well as the Season 2 soundtrack for the TV smash, Empire.
And today we’re extremely proud to be presenting the World Premiere of Andrae’s terrific new song. Andrae walks the line between soul and jazz on “Really Nice To Know You,” a cut that has a 70s vibe somewhere between Stevie Wonder and Incognito. It is a tasty adult jam, with a cool groove that goes on for days.
Andrae tells us about the song, “I wrote this song after an ended relationship. It was the first time I was able to genuinely appreciate the experiences I shared with a woman that I loved while still accepting the fact that it was time to move on. We are still friends to this day, and I can honestly say that I wouldn't change one second of that relationship.”
