It is also exciting to anticipate who will start the year with a release that grabs the attention of many. One apparent contender for this title is the collaborative effort of David P. Stevens and Brandon Stevens, resulting in the single "What If."
While the two Stevens are not related, their chemistry on this track makes it easy to give them the label of musical brothers. A meeting at David's concert in Charlotte, NC was the catalyst to this track becoming a reality. Penned by David, "What If" is a new chapter for him as he is sharing his musical vision via other emerging artists. While he's a renowned guitarist and musician, his goal with this latest project is to present, in his words, "dope artists to the world."

Brandon Stevens is first up to bat. The Colombia, SC artist that has toured with the legendary group Chairmen of the Board, and here takes a step forward in his solo career, providing his smooth vocals over this midtempo throwback groove that hearkens back to the Motown Sound. "What If" tells the story of a man revisiting his choices within a relationship and how he would do things differently. David's signature guitar work is present here and compliments Brandon's empowered vocals effectively.
While we await future releases from David P. Stevens’ production project, "What If" is a solid example of how organic collaborations can be fruitful, and also shows how high of a bar that David and Brandon created for other artists to reach for the rest of the year.
