February 16, 2018 — Some music careers take off like rocket ships, and the Cuban-American artist Camila Cabello, now only 20 years old, already finds herself decidedly in the cockpit of one of NASA’s finest.
Originally gaining public notice as a member of the band Fifth Harmony formed in 2012 for the TV program X Factor, Cabello went solo in 2016 and has never looked back. Among other hits, her single “Havana,” released last year, reached #1 on the U.S., U.K., and Australian charts, and her first album, Camila,” debuted last month at #1 on the Billboard 200. And she’s just getting started.
We feature here the track “Real Friends” from Cabello’s impressive debut, a tasty slice of rhythmic, Latin soul that highlights her compelling voice and ear for a memorable hook. Enjoy.
