Volume two of drummer Terry Lynne Carrington’s Mosaic Project: Love and Soul was SoulTracks favorite of 2015. Sporting vocal talent that included Ledisi, Oleta Adams, Nancy Wilson, the late great departed Natalie Cole, and with Tia Fuller on alto sax, bassist Rhonda Smith and Linda Smith being among the instrumentalists joining Carrington, this record was the living and breathing embodiment of black women rocking, funking, jazzing it up and pretty much elevating the game.

There simply was not a weak cut on this record, and the aptly named “So Good (Amazing)”  featuring the power backed vocals of Philly  native Jaguar Wright is one of many highlights. Carrington and company recently released a video that serves the traditional role as promotion for the record, but dually as a love letter and homage to Boston, a city where Carrington spent time on the staff of Berklee College of Music. This delightfully devious video was filmed at a couple of Carrington’s favorite haunts and features as two of her former students. Take a look (and listen) we think you’ll like it.
