(May 10, 2019) It’s not exactly a pairing that seems obvious, but today marks the release of the new duet between Gladys Knight and 80s pop star Boy George and Culture Club. “Runaway Train” is a remake of a song from Culture Club’s 2018 album Life, given new life through the collaboration.

Knight has had a good 2019 so far, including a terrific performance at the Super Bowl – though she was oddly absent at the Motown 60 event. She sounds great on this new single, which is a driving midtempo that opens with a retro piano and drumbeat, and follows with a more lush, 70s style production.

The song was recorded in Fall of 2018 and Knight has also performed it during a cameo appearance at a Culture Club concert in Los Angeles. It's always great to hear her, and "Runaway Train" is no exception.
