(August 10, 2016) Singer and actor Tyrese Gibson discovered Leon Timbo, the big man with an even bigger voice. And if you view the many YouTube videos of the two singing while Timbo strums his guitar, it’s clear that Tyrese is proud of the discovery.
Timbo started singing publicly at age 16. A singer/songwriter, Timbo is also a skilled piano player, but since even the smallest keyboard can be a challenge to lug around, he took up the guitar because it’s transportable. As those YouTube videos show, Timbo has his guitar and he will travel. He also has a new project, What Love’s All About, that’s expected to drop on Aug 26.
Plenty of artists claim that their music harkens back to the time when lyrics had substance and the music sounded organic and the vocals took listeners back to the church or the street corner because those are all good things to claim. Listening to “You’re My Darling,” the first single from What’s Love All About, shows that Timbo more than backs up those boasts. Check it out. I’m sure you’ll agree.
