While we wait to hear from Space Captain, Maralisa has just issued a new single that caught our attention. "Paint" is assured in its sound, with a delicious groove and strong vocals up front. Maralisa tells us, "Paint pays tribute to the vibrancy of my mother's artwork, whose influence swallowed me up and gave me a musical voice. It is also a reflection on the ways in which a community may flock to one family's internal affairs, referring to the separation of my parents. Brooklyn emcee SKRD contributes to my story with similar details of his own upbringing."
