(September 8, 2019) It has been more than a decade since we heard from talented Fort Worth, Texas singer/songwriter Nuwamba. He received a heap of praise then for his debut album, Above the Water, and it was deserved.  With elements of Marvin Gaye and Maxwell, along with a healthy dose of originality, he moved through a number of musical styles, including nice elements of acoustic soul, moody Kem-like ballads, and solid neo-soul vibes.

Now, after a gap between recordings, Nuwamba is back with new music. “Make It Through” is a sexy ballad, with cool, acoustic instrumentation and stylish percussion, and with Nuwamba’s expressive vocals clearly upfront.

This is great late night stuff. Check it out below and welcome Nuwamba back to SoulTracks.
