(August 11, 2023) Music has a way of being able to transcend genres, races, cultures and geography. For many in the United States, their exposure to artists born in other countries and continents can be limited on purpose. Some make the mistake of assuming that artists from other corners of the world are incapable of producing good music. For those who fall in that category, Ob Nelson serves as an artist that can and will break such stereotypes down.

Born in Benin, Nigeria, Nelson is a singer/ songwriter who has released a string of singles over the last few years that cater to R&B and jazz audiences. His latest release, entitled "Someday," falls in that line as well. "Someday" is a ballad rooted in soul, but the jazz notes are present in the arrangement, with sax and piano performances pushed to the forefront. It's a song that tells the classic tale of a hope for eternal love and the fear that the someday of a goodbye never comes. Nelson's tenor is not overpowering, and effectively compliments the musical progression of the track.

While an offering of a full album is forthcoming, "Someday" is a song that is ready now for music audiences across the world. Nelson takes the best of himself, his influences, and his musical vision and the result is a song that is the essence of the universal language of love.
